Been fighting with the color on this one. Can't quite get it to look right. Any advice?

Not bad, though her back structure is a bit off, especially in the shoulder and bum. What an adorable face! Good work on the mane and tail too.

This is the line art. -

Her propotions are comic/hero style. This is by far not done. I'm at my wits end as far as how to get the shading to look right. For instance I don't want the porportions to look off because they aren't. Any suggestions?

Hmmm.... I dunno, I like it. :P I know nothing about colouring, though, so I can't offer any advice there.

Looks alright to me, though. :)

Try using a bit of color in your lighting, for one. Like blues or peuples to contrast the earthy tones. I wasn't complaining about proportions, I just meant they didn't seem level with her sillouette in thst, like her bum's too low by hip placement, and shoulder misplaced. If it's comic/hero style, her hips would curve out just a little more.

I'll mill over this a bit and see if I can help you.

I don't mind if you were complaining about the proportions. I was pleased that you had feed back. I was explaining what I had done, per line work, so far nothing more. I had forgotten about the other color tinting. Should have remembered that from color theory:). I'll give it a shot and see if it helps the over all blocky, messy,...yuck I have right now.

I really like it. And I have still many own probs with coloring (just visit my gallery and you can see what I´m talking about). But two things I´ve already learnt: 1. often take colors in your shadows and lightings that can be found around the character you color and 2. be sometimes a bit excessive with your colors. I am often to shy to color in bright colors and than my pics look flat.

Good insight. I'll be the first to admit I'm shy about colors too. Thanks!
